Let's entertain you!

Apart from a few technical sound problems at the beginning of the act, my cousin's band gave a good show last night.  They played 8 songs all composed by themselves and even though they came on later than expected due to a reorganisation of the schedule (could there be any more problems??) the crowd were animated.

Copies of their CDs and t-shirts were on sale and the concert organisers set up a bar and kitchen so we stayed around for some time (cubatas - rather large unmeasured shots of alcohol like whisky, rum or gin with a mixer - were 2.50€ and montaditos - small rolls with a filling like chorizo or ham and cheese - were 1€).

Late weddings

Before the concert we met up with some friends and went to one of our favourite bars in the old town.  It is a favourite mainly because of its location - the terrace is in a plaza or square in front of the Co-cathedral (see definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co-cathedral ) of St Nicholas.  We can sit down with our cubatas and watch the goings on as there are loads of passers-by and always an event or two.

As we entered the plaza we saw a lovely vintage-style car outside the church doors.  It was awating the bride and groom who were having their wedding ceremony inside.

This was at about 9.45pm.  At this time of year and because this church is so popular, wedding ceremonies go on until quite late.  The bride and groom didnt come out until about 10.15pm then they started their wedding photography session!  I hope that their guests had some tapas before they went to the ceremony as they probably wont be having their dinner until 11.30pm!  They do eat quite late over here though.

They started taking photos of the bride and groom on, next to, and inside the car.  I hope that their photographer was good because (as you can see by my photos) the ambient lighting at this time of night is quite poor.  They then went off somewhere to take more photos and left us looking for the next event to entertain us.

Would you have such a late wedding ceremony?
